libpnglite-dev software package provides lightweight C library for loading and writing PNG images, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libpnglite-dev
libpnglite-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libpnglite-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libpnglite-dev *
You will get with libpnglite-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
